FPGAs (HDL / VHDL, Verilog)

Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are integrated circuits that can be configured to perform arbitrary digital logic operations via Hardware Description Languages (HDL). FPGAs provide a flexible alternative to Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) for prototyping purposes or small-batch production, and are frequently used to accelerate digital signal processing and other time-sensitive, high-throughput applications. SOE FGPA developers work with two kinds of development: 1) custom solutions (new HDL code custom-made to accommodate for unique applications) and 2) softcore processors (existing HDL code models that are modified to specific requirements, features, and instructions).
